That’s @derekloudermilk #hiking by a Ficus Palmeri, commonly known as Zalate. This is one of the most well known #trees in #Baja California Sur. They typically grow on huge #rocks, and their roots extend in beautiful patterns reaching out to where water may flow, so they’re a common sight when #exploring a #canyon around here. They’re also a popular stop for local rancheros who are herding their cattle, since the shade and comfy, natural seats make the spot perfect for taking a break to enjoy a burrito on the way to and from home.
